D’ici-là, voici la chanson The King.

I was produced by old machines Rusted and worn by centuries I was entoiled by sullied lawx< Now i am caught between its jaws I am the scar of my descent Destined to be the same again I am the circle viciously Complete and closed like history I am the king of the ancient town I am the reign of the young And i have been told i'm the only one But i am, no i am not

The King exprime une certaine désillusion. » - Matt Holubowski

Matt Holubowski Presents The King
First single off of his new album expected for this fall
After a brief tour of the province last year, and a lengthy creative writing break, the singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter is currently in the studio, working on his second album. He is accompanied by Stéphane Bergeron (Karkwa) on drums, Marc-André Landry (Chloé Lacasse) on bass, and Simon Angell (Patrick Watson) on guitar. His faithful collaborator Connor Seidel will produce the album, which is expected to be released in the fall. Until then, here is The King.
The King (extrait)
"It’s a song that has traveled extensively with me, one that I sang everywhere I traveled in recent times. This is probably the heaviest sound, but I think it sums up the darker tones and ideas of the album quite well. The idea with this release was essentially to put out something people wouldn’t expect given my previous work. I wrote this song two years ago, at a point in my life where I was facing an increasingly common reality-check for people of my generation: though we were told by our elders that getting a decent education and working hard would mean the assurance of a good and prosperous life, this is in fact far from being true for most of us. THE KING expresses a disenchantment and marginalization that leads to a relentless struggle between confidence in one’s existence and the uncertainty of it."
