Dr Paul Rossy proudly presents his second Jazz album, Oasis: The Music of Paul Rossy. This record is a reinterpretation of the original songs from his album Kinda Missing You. Combining his two passions, pediatrics and music, Dr Paul Rossy has raised, thanks to donations, 2.3 million dollars for the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation since the release of his first album Jazz Poetry: The Music of Paul Rossy.
Produced by Ian Kelly, Oasis: The Music of Paul Rossy was recorded at Studio Pierre Marchand, and includes the talented Sunset Hill Jazz Band, which includes Mark Nelson on drums, Seb Pellerin on bass, Nicolas Ferron on guitar, Jonathan Cayer on piano and organ, Thomas Morelli-Bernard on trombone, Alexis French on the trumpet and flugelhorn, JF Ouellet on baritone sax, and Fraçois Stevenson on vibraphone.
“Ian Kelly built a great musical family around me, one that included world-renowned musicians and arrangers. Our goal was to create an exceptional Jazz record. I feel privileged to have been supported by this team!” – Paul Rossy
Pediatrician by day, musician by night, Paul Rossy first collaborated with singer-songwriter Ian Kelly in 2016, when he began the process of creating an original album. Rossy wanted to raise money for children by combining his love for his profession with his passion for music. In April 2017, Paul Rossy released his first album of original songs, as well as a Jazz reinterpretation of those songs, on Jazz Poetry: The Music of Paul Rossy. A benefit concert was held at the Corona Theatre to raise funds for The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation.
The 1.3 million that was recently donated to the Foundation will allow the Montreal Children’s Hospital neonatal intensive care unit to install the HeRO surveillance system.
“I intend to continue using my music to help children. It’s a model that has proven successful. In the name of all the children we have helped, and have yet to help, I thank you!” – Paul Rossy
