Singer-songwriter-producer Ian Kelly unveils I Need Your Love, a poignant and tender new song that showcases his flawless vocals. The single sets the tone for his sixth album, Long Story Short, which will be released on August 23rd.
Shot and directed by Martin Girard (Shoot Studio), the video features the movements of Maxime C. Galipeau, who through motion, interprets the vulnerability of the song's lyrics.
"To illustrate the simplicity of the song I Need Your Love, I didn't want a video that was too elaborate. The dance is so poetic that we wanted it to speak for itself. I didn't expect to be as moved as I was by Maxime's choreography," explains Ian Kelly about the video.
"I turned 40 this year, I'm releasing my sixth album, and I'm still really excited to share my new songs with people," says Ian Kelly, who, despite writing music for two films, producing albums, organizing a festival, and touring with Mr. Chandler, still managed to create this album, which he considers to be his best yet. "I have no sense of entitlement; every day is a gift. I have no expectations, but I'm still dreaming. The difference is that my dreams are ever closer to reality.
The release of Long Story Short comes just in time for the second edition of the SuperFolk Morin-Heights Festival, created by the songwriter in 2017. With a secret musical program, the festival, presented by SiriusXM, will take place August 24th and 25th, in the magnificent Laurentian region. For more information about the festival, click here.
