Après avoir performé sur les plus grands plateaux de télévision et dans les plus importants événements au Québec en tant que chef et directeur musical, David Lafleche proposera demain un premier EP, qui le mènera à la sortie de son premier album en carrière, à paraître le 7 mai prochain.

À la suite de la sortie de We Collided, sa toute première œuvre, qui s’est vite retrouvée sur plusieurs listes de lecture et qui s’est taillé une place dans le palmarès Hot Canadian Digital Song Sales du Billboard, David Lafleche arrive en force avec Everyday Son Part 1. L’auteur-compositeur et interprète dévoile trois chansons, livrant ainsi un témoignage d’amour aux gens qui l'entourent.

Ces trois premières pièces donnent le ton à un album tout en douceur et en émotions. La deuxième partie paraîtra le 26 mars, tandis que l’album complet sera disponible le 7 mai 2021.

Lonely Fire aborde la dépression, une paralysie dans le temps, un sentiment d’impuissance. David Lafleche livre un témoignage poignant qui rend hommage à son neveu, sa petite étincelle, qui lui a permis de se sortir de cet état de fragilité. Le texte est supporté par un son folk americana portant une touche de country moderne. 

Counting Lights relate des souvenirs de jeunesse, la route entre la maison et le chalet, à compter les lampadaires sur l’autoroute 15. Cette mélodie vient chercher les émotions les plus profondes de David et le rend émotif. Bien que cette chanson soit un hommage à son père aujourd’hui décédé, ce sont des souvenirs heureux qui en ressortent et une fierté d’avoir pu créer une musique qui touche directement au cœur.

Les pièces présentées par David Lafleche sont nées à la suite d’un voyage à Nashville où David a repris contact avec son bon ami et collègue musicien, Fred Eltringham (Sheryl Crow, Kenny Chesney, Vince Gill, Miranda Lambert). Ce passage dans le berceau de la musique country a permis à David de puiser toute l’inspiration nécessaire, entouré de partenaires de création. Son premier album en carrière paraîtra le 7 mai prochain.

David est bercé par la musique dès son enfance. Entouré d’un père chef d’orchestre ainsi que d’une mère et d’une tante chanteuses populaires dans les années 60 et 70, il découvre la guitare et se rend à Boston pour l'étudier au Berklee College of Music. D’année en année, il multiplie les plateaux de télévision et les événements de grande envergure à titre de chef et de directeur musical. En plus de collaborer à la réalisation et aux arrangements de plusieurs albums, il a signé la trame sonore du film Starbuck. Influencé par James Taylor, il s’initie à la musique country et sa passion pour le folk americana prend enfin place dans sa vie alors qu’il devient auteur-compositeur et interprète en 2020.

In a second act to a prestigious career as musical director for some of the biggest television shows and events in Quebec, David Lafleche will be releasing his first EP tomorrow, which will be followed on May 7th with the release of his first album.

His very first single- We Collided- quickly found its way onto several best-of lists, and earned a spot on Billboard's Hot Canadian Digital Song Sales Chart. Now Lafleche is sharing Everyday Son Part 1. With this EP, the singer-songwriter unveils 3 songs that are testaments of love to the people in his life.

This album is a portrait of my life. I wanted to pay tribute and express to the people around me how much I appreciate them, explains Lafleche. We don't always have the right words to express the ways in which we love people, but I manage to do it with my songs.

The first 3 songs set the tone for a gentle and emotional album. The second part will be released on March 26th, and the complete album will be available on May 7th, 2021.

Lonely Fire deals with depression, the paralysis of time, and feelings of powerlessness. David Lafleche delivers a poignant testimony that also pays tribute to his nephew, his little spark, who helped him free himself from a state of tenuous fragility. The lyric is supported by a Folk Americana sound with a hint of modern Country.

Counting Lights revisits childhood memories, the drive from home to the cottage, counting the street lights on Highway 15. The melody captures David's deepest emotions. Although this song is a tribute to his late father, it brings back happy memories and makes the singer-songwriter proud to have been able to create music that speaks directly from the heart.

For Yours to Keep is a gift, a song of hope and comfort. Written for his daughter, it was the last song to be recorded for this album. Inspired by James Taylor's Fire and Rain and You've Got a Friend, Lafleche writes a letter, interspersed with moments from everyday life, to remind her that he will always be there to hold her hand and support her throughout her journey.

The songs created for this album were born out of a trip to Nashville, where David reconnected with his good friend and fellow musician Fred Eltringham (Sheryl Crow, Kenny Chesney, Vince Gill, Miranda Lambert). This time spent in the cradle of Country Music, surrounded by creative partners, allowed David to draw on all the inspiration that he needed. His very first album will be released on May 7th.
