Today, the Santa Teresa Festival, in collaboration with SiriusXM, is unveiling the programming for its sixth edition, pour vrai de vrai that will take place from May 19th to May 22nd, 2022. The grand musical celebration will unfold in the streets of downtown Sainte-Thérèse, marking the return of the festival season. Tickets for the Big Shows on the Main Stage, the Sacrés Shows of the Église Sainte-Thérèse-d’Avila, as well as the BMO Cabaret Shows go on sale starting at noon HERE. The Free Shows, at the legendary bars of Blainville Street, at the Chapelle SiriusXM located at La Protestante, and on our Teresa Stage are also being unveiled today.
Always so quirky and festive, Santa Teresa's brand, created in collaboration with La Cursive and Caserne studios, is adopting the theme pour vrai de vrai. The colorful characters, with a frank and warm tone, bring to life the suburban universe that the festival has appropriated since its beginnings. Tonio LaClutch, @Jessyca.officiel, Robert Roquette and dear Teresa (played respectively by Eric Vega, Caroline Courtois Schirmer, Daniel Saint-Jacques, and Carmen Sylvestre) will take part in the experience to promote this radically different event from the competition.
The brand also has a new website that is just as playful and original. The Digital Experience department of the Lg2 agency was responsible for the creation and development. SantaTeresaFest.ca
The festival distinguishes itself year after year by its cultural and gender diversity, emerging talents, as well as the range of venues and activities on site.
THE SACRED SHOWS Starting Thursday evening, the Église Sainte-Thérèse-d'Avila will host Cœur de Pirate and Safia Nolin alternately, featuring their own hand-picked guest singers, as well as Martha Wainwright on Saturday and Pierre Lapointe with Sofiane Pamart on Sunday.
THE BIG SHOWS Hubert Lenoir, Choses Sauvages and Lydia Képinski will take to the Main Stage on Friday night, while Saturday will be devoted to hip-hop with American artists Princess Nokia and $not, Canadian performers Pressa and Montreal-based Skiifall. On Sunday, Jimmy Eat World will be led by Corridor and Les Hôtesses d'Hilaire.
THE CABARET SHOWS The musical programming will continue at the Cabaret BMO at the end of the evening. As an extension of Hubert Lenoir's performance on the Main Stage, festivalgoers will be able to join in the fun with Miro starting at 11:30 p.m. on Friday night. On Saturday, the four finalists of the show La fin des faibles, also at the Cabaret BMO, will be presented after an evening of hip-hop.
FREE SHOWS In the heart of downtown Sainte-Thérèse, at the corner of Blainville and L'Église streets, artists such as Gab Paquet, Claudia Bouvette, Thierry Larose, as well as Le Couleur will perform for free all weekend long on the Teresa Stage. In the city's venues and bars, first comers will be able to attend shows by Anachnid, Joseph Shabason, Jesuslesfilles, Robert Robert and David Campana, completely free of charge. Visit the festival's website for complete programming.
ECO-FRIENDLY TERESA In an ongoing effort to reduce its ecological footprint, the festival offers a series of concrete actions based on the premise that it is impossible to engage in a creative process today without considering the impact it will have on tomorrow. In 2019, the festival received the Vivats RECYC-QUÉBEC Award for Responsible Waste Management during its last full edition.
