Quelques semaines après avoir partagé Settle & Fly en collaboration avec Gabrielle Shonk, Jesse Mac Cormack est de retour avec une toute nouvelle chanson All Mine, qui révèle un virage électronique plus assumé.

Jesse nous explique l’inspiration derrière cette nouvelle pièce : Dans All Mine, j'approfondis l'idée d'assumer la responsabilité de nos émotions dans nos relations. Il s'agit de reconnaître que nous avons tous un rôle crucial à jouer dans la gestion et l'appropriation de nos sentiments. En octobre, Jesse Mac Cormack prendra la route avec CRi pour une série de concerts. Ils se produiront au MTelus à Montréal (07/10), à l'Impérial Bell de Québec (13/10), ainsi qu'au Danforth Music Hall à Toronto (14/10) où ils interpréteront plusieurs chansons qui ont marqué leur collaboration au fil des années.

Polyvalent, Jesse Mac Cormack a réalisé tous les volumes de l’acclamé Altogether Unaccompanied de Helena Deland, ainsi que des albums de Rosie Valland, Philippe Brach, Sara-Danielle, Lonny et plusieurs autres. Magicien du studio et guitariste incendiaire, Jesse Mac Cormack a été recruté pour rendre hommage à Muddy Waters et Stevie Ray Vaughan au Festival international de jazz de Montréal. Son approche a été influencée par des rencontres et des collaborations remarquables avec des artistes tels que Patrick Watson, The Barr Brothers, Cat Power, Half Moon Run et CRi. La chanson No Love Go (CRi Remix) de Mac Cormack a pu être entendue dans la série de Showtime American Gigolo.

Mac Cormack a lancé SOLO_2 en mai dernier, un nouvel EP qui inclut trois pièces de l’album original SOLO qu’il a réinventé.  Le concept de créer des versions alternatives de chansons qui se trouvaient sur SOLO a vu le jour après le spectacle lancement de mon album au Centre Phi de Montréal le printemps dernier, raconte Jesse. En jouant les chansons sur scène, j’ai eu envie d’accentuer l’aspect électro pour expérimenter avec une énergie différente en concert. Comme sur son album primé Now, l’auteur-compositeur-interprète joue de pratiquement chaque instrument sur SOLO et SOLO_2, créant à lui seul un univers sonore à la fois percutant et intimiste, influencé par les textures électroniques de James Blake, Little Dragon, Caribou et SUUNS.

A few weeks after sharing Settle & Fly feat. Gabrielle Shonk, Jesse Mac Cormack is back with a brand new song, All Mine, in which he fully embraces a shift into electronic music.

Jesse tells us about what inspired this latest track: In All Mine, I explore the concept of owning up to one’s emotions in our relationships. It’s about facing the fact that we all play a critical part in the understanding and handling of our feelings. When two partners are aware of their emotions and actively manage them, there is a path towards a more authentic, more fulfilling connection in their relationship.

A studio wizard and incendiary guitarist, Jesse Mac Cormack was recruited to pay tribute to Muddy Waters and Stevie Ray Vaughan at the Festival international de jazz de Montréal. His approach has been influenced by remarkable encounters and collaborations with artists such as Patrick Watson, The Barr Brothers, Cat Power, Half Moon Run and CRi. Mac Cormack’s song No Love Go (CRi Remix) was featured in the Showtime series American Gigolo.

Mac Cormack released SOLO_2 last May, a new EP that includes three tracks from the original SOLO album that he has reinvented. The concept of creating alternative versions of songs that were on SOLO came about after my album launch show at Montreal’s Phi Centre last spring, says Jesse. Playing the songs live, I wanted to accentuate the electro aspect and experiment with a different energy live. As on his award-winning album Now, the singer-songwriter plays virtually every instrument on SOLO and SOLO_2, creating a sound universe that is both percussive and intimate, influenced by the electronic textures of James Blake, Little Dragon, Caribou and SUUNS.
